Learn to sail at the North Shore’s premier sailing school
For more than 80 years, Sheridan Shore Sailing has been proud to offer sailors of all ages the opportunity to experience the excitement, challenge, and exhilaration of sailing.
Our classes feature a low student-to-instructor ratio to teach sailing and seamanship skills to grade school, junior high school sailors, high school students, and adults of all ability levels. In addition to our youth sailing summer programs, we coach many of our local High School teams in the spring and fall. We have also partnered with the North Suburban Recreation Association to offer sailing to children and adults with disabilities.
Each level of our sailing program provides plenty of opportunities to grow in skill and confidence. We have a wide range of sailboats to suit a variety of needs. The sailing school uses the facilities of the Wilmette Harbor Club, located on the North Shore of Chicago at Wilmette Harbor in Gillson Park.

Here at the sailing school on the North Shore of Chicago, we take extreme care to ensure activities only take place in proper weather conditions. We are actively watching weather at all times to ensure safety for our students on the water.
